Solve : Monitor / Video Card Help?

Answer»

This is about my first computer build that I finished like an hour ago.

When I turn on my computer my monitor turns on just
like normal, but as soon as it is rebooted, the monitor goes off like it has no signal, yet the computer is still on. I think it is because my new motherboard has a AGP slot and my old ONE didn't. So all I had was a PCI Video card. So I think that the problem is that the motherboard wants to detect the AGP card but nothing is there.

For information my motherboard is an nForce2 Ultra 400 (AN35n Ultra) and my video card is a geForce 4 MX 440 (PCI version). And I know it isn't my monitorWhy can you not install the PCI card in a PCI slot?

I suggest you set the BIOS to first LOOK for PCI rather than AGP.MY video card is installed in a PCI slot.

And I tried looking in the BIOS for such an option but no LUCK.  Thanks for the quick reply. Please Help Me Out  :-/Could it be that you power supply is inadequate. Perhaps it cannot power the videocard for even a short period of time.

-You may have to enable some type of 'Advanced' menu to access more BIOS SETTINGS. However,  this may differ per type of BIOS.
