Solve : Monitor / Video Card issues.......?

Answer»

I got a problem with a computer that im trying to get fixed up....it was working fine about a month ago and had no problems....then RECENTLY i decided to add a cd-drive hard drive, ram... etc. when i hook up the pc and turn it on....the light on the monitor will go from green to orange, now i  have done the following:

1. Checked and doublechecked the cables.
2. Tried a diffrent monitor...even a monitor that i know works.
3. Tried a diffrent video card instead of using the onboard one.

Anyone know of any tricks to get this thing working?? Start with removing new RAM, and inserting the old one.
How many sticks with what values, old, and new?
What Windows version?im sure its actually the orriginal ram that was in THER...i had just taken it out and left it out for a few months Quote

then recently i decided to add a cd-drive hard drive, ram... etc.
What exactly is new?lol  when i said "new" i actually meant new as in diffrentOK...What components are DIFFERENT from the stage when computer actually worked?cd drive....floppy drive...hard drive... keyboard....mouse.... but theese wouldnt cause NOTHING to SHOW up on the screen would they??Which of those are new, which ones are used ones?Nothings new....its all used...i used the word "NEW" as in its never been in that computer before.....What about hard drive itself, then? Was it fdisked, formatted, OS installed?not quite sure...i was just going to format it and install a new os on it with that computer..
Well, you need to do this first in order to see ANYTHING on your screen. Do you have any OS CD?sure...i got win 98...95...xp pro......i got other computers i can format the drive
Put  Windows XP CD in, and restart your computer. It should be BOOTABLE.
