Solve : monitor won't start? |
|
Answer» A newly built computer was working fine and then the bios was reset to load optimum and now the monitor won't come on. The computer can be heard running but the monitor doesn't seem to be picked up. The monitor works fine on another computer but without the monitor we don't KNOW how to get back to the bios and put the setting back to what it was. Any advice would be appreciated.I'm not sure about this, but I guess you could try removing the CMOS battery from the computer which I think should reset BIOS SETTINGS back to default. the CMOS battery looks like a battery from a watch except it's bigger. Put the battery back in and try the monitor again. Are there 2 places the monitor can be hooked up to on the REAR of the machine ? ? Are you getting the BIOS beep when you turn the computer on? If you aren't getting any beep, then your monitor is fine and your BIOS needs to be flashed; because it got lost. Please ignore the above advice... |
