Solve : more ram?

Answer»

i have ordered windows 7. but i need to upgrade my ram from 512 to 1024.
the problem is i can't find my computer all sites say find manufacture,
mine is amd semperon but i can never find it why.Just open up your computer and take out your RAM cards to find out exactly what they are (ddr, ddr2, ect). Then go to the store and purchase similar cards.Or travel to Crucial.com and run the online scanner...More specifically...

Thanks Carbon /Patio will do both, have a good one.Hi Ivan,

With Vista, 2 GB of ram is only acceptable, so I can't say that I recommend anything less than that for Win7. And, other than being an early-adopter, may I ask why you are jumping on the Win7 BANDWAGON so early in its development stage? Just wondering...

Batman9299Maybe because it's the most solid OS to come out of Redmond since Win2K......

Eh, I believe this is going to depend on what he normally does with his computer. I believe one of the gains with Win 7 is better performance with 1GB of RAM than Win Vista, at least compared to Vista pre-SP2. So, 1GB MIGHT be OK for him.Quote from: ivanoe on July 24, 2009, 04:17:42 AM

semperon is not a computer manufacturer, it's a processor made by AMD. That's why you won't see it on the memory websites. Online memory SELLERS usually ask for make/model of computer or make/model of motherboard. Um, wasn't this OBVIOUS, by visiting the memory seller websites?

If you don't know the make/model ..., use the scanner as suggested.
