I have a PC chips m81od mother board with an amd athlon processor. I want to replace that with an intel motherboad and processor. I would prefer the connections to be IDE, it needs to support xp, and have more than 8gb RAM. Can someone point me in the direction of where to BUY something like this? What's the best place to buy parts? ThanksThe first issue I see is that XP doesn't support more than 4GB (officially). There are ways to do it, but from what I've read, having any more than 4GB for XP is pointless even if you do get XP to work properly with that much memory.

Second, if you want any real advice, we'd need to know how much you INTEND to spend on this machine, what your intent is for it (games, internet, multimedia editing, etc.), and what hardware you currently have that you can move over (hard drives, sound card, VIDEO card, etc.). I was going to only put in 4gb of memory so that's not a problem. The previous board and processor was a pc chips m810p I think with a amd athlon 1.77ghz processor.
