Merlin_2 (try not to comment on formatting ... COMMAS are fun!!!)
the problem then ...
I've bought a new power supply to replace the old (as I assumed, from another issue (PC did not power on, and odd sound from power), that it was broken)
I've installed the new power-supply ... now the issue is: when plugging in (from the wall), all the fans and light turn on (this is without turning the machine on, by the power button!). The power button does not work, nor does any of the other components (monitor, keyboard, mouse...)
First try reseating all the cards and RAM. THen test RAM with memtest86 (free at www.memtest86.com). What computer make/model or motherboard? WHat CPU? How much RAM? Has anything else happened to this system? Are you the only one that uses it?I'll try that (when I GET home)
