They put a sticker (seal) on the machines that you have to break in order to open the case. So there is no way to get the data from your hard drive if the motherboard is dead. If you explain to the company that you really want all of your STUFF, then thay may recover it for your.That is true but not all the time. Its like what you would see on OLDER playstation2's if you tried to remove it, it reads out void.
