Solve : Motherboard and processor?

Answer»

Is this processor compatible with following motherboard?

*AMD Phenom II X4 955BE Rev. C3, AM2+/AM3, 3.2GHz, 8MB, BOX

*Asus M5A87, AM3+, AMD 870, DDR3, Core Unlockerhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131734

go to details and in socket type it should tell u. i would tell u yes or no..but i dint get a glance at ur processor. correcting my mistake after further analysis if i am looking at the right mobo. yes it should be ABLE to support ur proccessor. The fact that motherboard has AM3+ and processor is AM3 (without +)is what made unsure.let me check further on that give me a few minutes ill respond back to SEE if there would be a problem with the mobo and ur socket on the processor
after more analysis the fact that your mobo. is am3+ means its supports new processors along with the old ONES, in simple terms your processor is still supported by ur mobo. Thanks for confirmation.Quote from: Madoc Comadrin on May 31, 2011, 02:35:12 PM

The fact that motherboard has AM3+ and processor is AM3 (without +)is what made unsure.

AM3+ is a modification of the AM3 Socket designed for future "Zambezi" CPUs which use the new Bulldozer microarchitecture and will retain compatibility with AM3 processors. The set of features in Zambezi processors is not yet known.
