Solve : Motherboard connections?

Answer»

I have just replaced my ASUS P4C800-E DeLuxe with the ASUS PB5 DeLuxe/WiFi-AP motherboard to take advantage of Dual Core CPU's.etc
The former board had two audio 4-pin connector sockets, but the latter has only one. I used a CD player and a DVD player in the P4C board
If I connect my CD player to that, what are the options for USING the DVD audio outlet?
Why would any board only have one such soket when most PC's have two players?
Are CD players now a thing of the past and I should only ned my DVD player? There have been occasions when application instructions specifically warned against using a DVD player during instalation.

Maybe it's just me missing the obvious. It usually is.i am confused. by CD and DVD player, you mean the CD and DVD drive?

really? i have never in my life come across this.

the CD-LINE IN feature is being phased out, reason being, almost every new motherboard comes with an integrated headphone HOOKUP in the BACK, therefore eliminating the need to plug your headphones into your CD or DVD drive.Got that, thanks Homer.
Apparently all audio now goes up and down the data cables!!!

One is learning all the time'
