Solve : Mouse driver problem?

Answer»

I use a laptop, and earlier it was possible to inactivate the touch pad when a mouse was plugged in. But now the touch pad is not inactive when I have a mouse plugged in and that's fatal in games since I accidentally brush up against the touch pad with my left hand from time to time (my touch pad is located to the left from the MIDDLE).
I cannot enter the mouse options from the control panel, so I cannot change the settings back to disabling the touch pad whenever a mouse is plugged in. I checked the device manager for updates for pointing tools, but there were none. The last time I fixed this problem was by doing a system restore, but there has to be an easier way.

Can you help me?you could phycally block it
or use externcal kb and mouse

I cannot enter the mouse options from the control panel,
Why is this.
Sorryif that's a dumb question, I don't do LAPTOPS often.
When I attempt to open the mouse options, I get a MESSAGE saying: "Unable to connect to Synaptics Pointing Device Driver", and then it asks me if I want to uninstall the Synaptics driver. That's all I know.
And I really don't want to have to PHYSICALLY block the touch pad or use an external keyboard.Have you tried updating or uninstall/reinstall the Synaptics mouse in device manager?Yes. The driver is up to date.
