Solve : Mouse not recognized when computer is turn on and boots up?

Answer»

I have a Dell computer system operating on Windows XP. I have a standard roller wheel mouse that CAME with the system. Everything worked fine for 1 1/2 years, but now when I turn the system on (power up)the mouse is not recognized. I must use the tab key to get to RESTART. When I restart the system (rather than a shut down) the mouse works fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Delbert Are you sure the mouse just hasnt gone ....... as in broken..... is it a usb ....

Tony It is in a USB. TRIED it in a different USB and the same thing occures. Tried a new mouse and it does the same thing. Mouse works fine once it is recognized.A USB mouse will not be recognised until Windows has loaded the USB device drivers.
This is an excellent REASON everyone should own a PS2 mouse and keyboard...if only for emergencies.
