Solve : Mouse Pad?

Answer»

Welcome,
i am posting for some expert help because of the following problem:´
I have a Toshiba LAPTOP sattelite l650-107 wich has currently a not working left mouse key, i thought at first that this could be deal to an hardware problem, the mouse simply broke or something, but then the double click function ( on the mouse pad) wich has been working SINCE i remenber stopped working at the same time as the key while the pad itself still works ( i can move the cursor arround).
I have checked the double click function, i have update the drives, i uninstall de device in manager control ( wich reinstalled it on restart), i have reversed buttons, and still the double click didn't worked...
I can't EXPLAIN why doesn't the double click works when the pad is working... And that makes me wonder if the non functional key+ the double click aren't both software problems instead of hardware?
I just want a final answer, is it or is it not a hardware problem?

(Sorry for my ENGLISH)

Thanks

Ps: I am using Windows 7 in a 64 bits system ( if it helps)
Have you connected a USB mouse to this laptop to see if the left-click works with a different mouse? This for reference:

... Another complication lies in the fact that some systems associate one action with a single click, another with a double click, and yet another with a two consecutive single clicks. Even advanced users SOMETIMES fail to differentiate between these properly. An example is the most common way of renaming a file in Microsoft Windows. A single click highlights the file's icon and another single click (on the filename, not the icon) makes the name of the file editable....
Also, the MS KB has information on how to alter or modify the mouse actions.

I have connected a external mouse and tested it, it works properly.Quote from: Geek-9pm on May 23, 2013, 06:51:36 PM

I have used my computer for at least 2 years, using most of the times more the double click than the key itself, i think i know how to do that without an instructions manual. No need to be condescending when recieving help...
Sounds like it's an actual hardware issue to me such as worn contacts or damage from spilled liquid or excessive heat.
You'll have to weigh the value of the laptop to the cost of repairs to decide what's next...Quote from: patio on May 25, 2013, 07:22:16 AM

Thanks for a final answer. It seems i have no other solution then a hardware fix. Wich is more expensive than the computer itself...
But Thanks above all else
