Answer» Quote from: Towergazer on April 10, 2009, 03:23:28 AM I'd like to get in on this thread. I have been using a Logitech Trackerball but suddenly the pointer would begin to take off and slide away from left to right across my monitor. If I dragged it back, it would just keep repeating that action. It occurred PRIMARILY at booting up. If I rebooted, it would behave for some time - anything between 15 minutes to an hour - then would slide away again. What surface are you operating the mice on? (eg. WOOD, plastic etc etc)Quote I'd like to get in on this thread. I have been using a Logitech Trackerball but suddenly the pointer would begin to take off You should start your own thread. Short answer to all of this. My brother and I have been using computers for years. We have never found any mouse or keyboard of any kind that performs as well, over the long haul, as the standard keyboard and mouse. OK. Exception for the optical moue. That's good. Anything else gives trouble sooner or later.and trackpoint for laptops. Those are great.Bit more from me. Thanks for your responses. When the Logitec Trackerball began giving trouble, the makers were good enough to send me a new replacement one. This began to wander as soon as I began to use it. I tried both the usual USB port and the PS2 (P2S?) connections but to no avail. My point being that it wasn't an old mouse/ball that was causing the problem. I use a mousemat with the current one month old MS Intellimouse. Still got the problem. But do you have the problem with a standard mouse? NOTICE. Never unpin/plug the PS/2 mouse with power on. It damages weaknesses the electronics inside the mouse. It wlll right away, or become weak and fail later. Wheel Mouse picture below. Cost about $1.50 each, will last for 3 to 6 months in normal use. Or don't jerk them around and the can last a lot longer. 2 Pages on a mouse issue......nevermind.BC.....Thank You!! I found my connect button on the bottom of my keyboard. Never knew it was there. After trying the things from the help offered on this forum, the pointer seems to have gotten somewhat better but occasionally still just shoots off into computer land SOMEWHERE....still don't know what's causing it...I really don't want to replace my keyboard if at all possible since it also has the buttons for controlling my recording and play, pause and other things I need. I was wondering if I could continue to use my wireless keyboard, but use a wired mouse? Thanking you in advance for all your help... Quote 2 Pages on a mouse issue......nevermind.Well, maybe somebody should start a new thread like this: HELP! -maybe my wireless mouse got a VIRUS? ..jsut a thought.Okay Geek...as soon as I stop laughing I'll start a new topic!!For someone that is computer skilled, I can see where 2 pages on a mouse pointer might be a waste of time...but if you're EXTREMELY new to computers and you don't know this....2 pages can seem not enough.Quote from: rika on April 11, 2009, 03:58:21 PM For someone that is computer skilled, I can see where 2 pages on a mouse pointer might be a waste of time...but if you're extremely new to computers and you don't know this....2 pages can seem not enough. Point well taken....and i apoligise and wish you well with a quick resolution. Thanks Patio....I know you meant nothing mean. I think my quick solution will be the wired mouse so that'll be the way I'm gonna go.....Thank you all for you help. It's really nice to know you're all here and so willing to help everyone from the very, very new beginners to the experienced. God Bless...yes, you can get a wired mouse and use it instead of the wireless mouse. Also I didn't even notice that TowerGazer tried to hijack your thread. technically Towergazer should have started their own thread, RATHER then hijack yours. oh well. Thanks BC....I guess figured he had a problem simular to mine so he would ask too. I didn't mind. Thanks for your help tho'. I'll be watching and reading all the time so I can learn things from y'all. |
