Solve : MOuse with Pin Plugs?

Answer»

Hi,
I have a AcerPowr S Series Desktop and the MOuse has Pin Plugs. NOw the mouse is not working. Unfortunately have checked all the local shops and they say that they DONOT have those types of mouse anymore. Can I plug in a Mouse with an USB drive. Really donot know MUCH about this as I am a novice. The computer was manufactured in 2005 and is working perfectly well. Can anybody help. Have to USE the keyboard instead and it is QUITE cumbersome.

Most USB mice come with a ps2 adapter.
If you have a usb port on your computer you can use a usb mouse.
You should have a usb port if it only three years old.I find it KIND of odd that none of these shops would bother to explain you that you get a PS/2 converter with most mice... Not necessarily anymore.

Newer Dell PCs have no PS/2 ports, and the mouse that comes with them are USB only--no PS/2 adapter.

I'm guessing that mouse manufacturers are starting to phase out the USB to PS/2 connector...I bought a Microsoft mouse a few days ago that came with a PS/2 converter.
