Answer» hey i have a huge problem. i hope somone knows how to do this. i am creatig a web site for my parents and they offer like 600 indivdual products and i dont WANT to create 600 page for those. is there an easier way? some way that i just create a template that automatically loads the proper pics and text for a certain product when clicked? please help me!!!I'm guessing you need multiple pages for the software description etc... I don't think there's any way around it... Unless you provide driect links to the software and not display any description... If you use a template, I think you will need some coding for the images... It might save some time... Might I suggest a webmaster forum? http://www.webmaster-talk.com/
[glb]Flame[/glb]600 pages would be very time consuming from both a development and maintenence point of view. Why not put all your data in a database? You could design just one page for product display and fill in the page with specifc product information when the page is requested.
You can GET a free version of Microsoft SQL Server (not a trial) at:

Good luck. i thought that i could do that but does it also load pictures?
where can i get turtorias for it?
thanks for all your helpPictures/images are stored in fields called BLOBs. MSDE install instructions can be found at: http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread19392.html
Another free database is MYSQL available at: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/4.1.html Scroll down the page for the Windows version.
Setting up a database driven web site can be complex and time consuming, but instead of writing an HTML file for every page of your site, you only need to WRITE a page for each kind of information you want to present and let the database drive the site.
Tutorials and information on databases can be found on the net, but the above pages have links which MAY help you get started. There are also many site builder programs...some are even free Check out: http://webhosting.yahoo.com/ps/sb/index.php
Good luck.
