Solve : Multiple soundcards for multiple outputs??

Answer»

Hello,

My daughter is killing me, she is on the Barbie site or something or other all the time. Not long ago I setup my computer to send audio down through the basement so I could play music off the computer. Now I can't use this if she needs to listen to her website because I can only have one output going at a time. Would an extra soundcard solve this problem? I can have the new soundcard to receive from my music player while everything else, her website, goes through the old card and her headphones. Is this a viable alternative?

Thank you,

Missing My MusicYou MEAN you want to BUY a new sound card and then make it so that it deals ONLY with a single program?

Sure, it's possible to add another soundcard, and thus another sound output device.

But I'm not sure if they would work in the same computer, or if they will be able to work on DIFFERENT tasks.

Seems like you would benefit from a sound card with multiple outputs.

I reccomend you find yourself a new sound source, such as an MP3 player and you won't have to worry about any of this.
