Solve : My computer does not register when I put in a DVD?

Answer»

I am having a problem with my HP 6130n as it will not register when I put in a commercial DVD. The drive will BURN DVDs and show home MOVIES on a DVD, but store BOUGHT DVDs do not work. The PC keeps asking me to insert a DVD. I have ALREADY gone over this with HP and they believe it is a copy right issue. I do not agree. The region is set at 1 on my computer and these are region 1 discs. HP keeps having me try different software to run the movies and I keep telling them that if explorer does not see the disc, what difference does a program MAKE? The problem seems to be the drive, but they disagrre. Has anyone out there heard of this type of problem before?no. i havent heardof that before but HP support sux and they either want you to buy something or they just try to get you off the phone as soon as possible. what i would do is go to the device manager and choose your dvd drive and uninstall it. then restart the computer. make sure your drivers are up to date and if you cant watch your movies after that, i would think about contacting HP again and demanding a replacement drive. good luckWhat Dvd playing software are you using?
