I have a Dell desktop which I used until yesterday it only stops during booting with only F2 for setup and F12 another thing which I don't remember. However when I press F2 it says.. entring setup then TAKES the whole nite to enter but didn't. I restart it this morning and same message appears. It doesn't go beyond that screen. Sorry I dont mean to be rude but it's hard to understand what you want!!Ok after reading this a few times you seem to have an OS (operating SYSTEM) problem. Can you not start Windows at all?It is freezing at the POST screen.

try tapping f2 repeatedly as soon as you switch the machine on. if it ENTERS BIOS and is responsive, than you have hardware components to blame.Sorry bout the English.. well.. When I press the start button on the System Unit there appears the first screen on the monitor sayin "INVALID CONFIGURATION." I trun it off then on again then these options appears Press F2 for setup and F12 for Boot Menu. So, what should I do?what kind of keyboard are you using? if it is a USB keyboard, try getting a PS/2 keyboard to bypass the BIOSIt is not a USB keyboard. Another thing, the green light on the front turns orange as I turn the electric on!! When I press the start button it never starts.Try opening the machine, and disconnecting the hard drives (NOT from the board, just the drives, remembering where each connection was, as well as floppy and CD drives, and try again.

It may be a faulty/failing Hard Drive or faulty floppy drive causing it to hangDid it but still hang with a peeping sound that peeps frequentlyDo you have any stuck keys? tried another keyboard? You could also try replacing the CMOS battery.Still hang and cannot enter setupFrequent beeping sound......MAYBE reseat memory or swap in good memory , possible overheating problem, is the processor fan working, is the heatsink flush to CPU and the MB ?.... is everything clean inside the case.
