Answer» Hi! My HDD with windows 98 crashed and a friend's HUSBAND installed a new HDD with windows 2000 Professional. I have lost contact with these friends and now my new HDD has crashed (I think). Both HDDS are in my computer and when I turn on the computer all I get is the initial screend that say "Windows 98" and "Windows 2000 Professional". I tried booting in Safe mode, last known configuration, etc and nothing happens. The MONITOR also stopped working and I am wondering if some sort of power surge damaged both. I hope to atleast get my photos and some personal info off this computer if it turns out that this computer is permanently kaput. Any suggestions? laorn84To RETRIEVE your data your best bet is to HOOK up the drive as a slave drive on a working machine that has a burner. Then you can copy/burn what you need from it.
