If your network connection isn't on one of the expansion slots then the network connection is on your motherboard. Is your internet DSL/Satellite/Cable? May need to clone your MAC address to your router for Satellite/Cable (may not be the issue). Your computer has a hardware address called a MAC that never CHANGES, and therefore uniquely identifies your computer. When your Internet SERVICE Provider sets up your connection, they register your computer’s MAC address with their system. From that point on, your computer must identify to their system with its MAC in order to be allowed access to the Internet. Since your computer’s MAC is a unique address, any router that you might later set up as an intermediary between your broadband modem and computer(s) will have a different MAC. Your router’s MAC will be unknown to your ISP, and so they may deny Internet connectivity to your router. Have you made any configuration changes to the router if so may want to reset to factory. Can you connect to the internet by removing the router and connecting directly to the modem via cable? If yes then put the router back on following the instruction manual for the router. Turn on modem wait for all lights to come on and completely power on, then turn on the router wait for all lights to come on and completely power on, then computer see if you can access. |
