Answer» My mouse has totally locked up. I changed it to another ONE i had stored and it still is frozen. It is plugged into a serial port adapter. The CPU is from 1997. Should i buy a mouse with a USB connector instead? Or buy a usb adapter? Please help. When did this start? Have you made any changes to your SYSTEM recently? Which OPERATING system are you on?
Flame6 months ago I tranfered my old files to a new computer. I'm on Windows ME. The computer has been UNPLUGGED since then. I just started to work with it again, now my pointer on the screen just stays frozen in the center.Have you tried Safe Mode?
FlameDisable all mice entries in device manager and reboot with the mouse plugged in.
Are you sure it worked before it was stored? I am unclear on this. Serial mice can need special drivers, whereas Windows automatically understands PS/2.Thank you all for your suggestions. I bought a new mouse with a USB connector. EVERYTHING works fine now.Come back and see us if you have any more questions
