Answer» Lately my Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical USB (P/N X08) has been acting funny. For example, when I SINGLE click, it double clicks, and when I drag SOMETHING it lets go randomly. And now it's started CLICKING randomly. I know it's not operating system related because it does it in both Linux and Windows. Right now I switched back to my old mechanical mouse, but I would like to know what's wrong with my MS mouse Thanks -JohnWell, it's either dirty and needs to be opened up and thoroughly cleaned out...or, like you said, it's BROKEN and there isn't much you do short of replacing it.You can get a basic USB optical scroll mouse for about $5-$10.
