I'm no expert but I'll try to help. OK, so now Device Manager is working, correct? Leave you Ipod PLUGGED in. Go to device manager, look down the list to see if anything has a yellow question mark next to it. It will likely be by Human Interface Devices. Click the + next to the ENTRY with the yellow question mark. Do you see an entry for your Ipod and does it have a yellow question mark next to it? If so, right click on that, then click on Uninstall. Now close device manager and go to Control Panel > click on Add Harware - then follow the instructions. I think this will work but if not you'll have to let a more experienced member help you. Edit=spelling How can device manager be blank? I don't understand. You are going to: Start --> Run --> devmgmt.msc right? If the computer prompts you for a device driver, read the information that was included with the device, or visit the manufacturer's Web site to see whether a driver is available. run Windows Update to obtain the latest fixes for Windows XP. When this is complete, plug in the device to see whether it is installed correctly. |
