Solve : need help identifying laptop keyboard?

Answer»

Hey all, IDIOT here.  Idiot used WET wipe to clean keyboard.  Idiot got liquid under the keys.  Idiot got water-damaged, unusable keyboard.

It has been a few months since this incident, and I've been using the laptop no problem with an external keyboard, but this is obviously not ideal.  I would have fixed it by now, but repairs by Toshiba are $250 (*censored*!!!!), and I can't find my model number ANYWHERE on the internet.  Nothing about this computer is to be found on the world-slightlythinnerthaniwashoping-web.

The computer is a Toshiba Satellite P855-S5312.  I wish to buy a replacement keyboard for it, which I hopeful will be able to install safely myself, considering I've never taken apart a computer before.

Anyways, I've seen keyboards that look similar to mine, but I was hoping someone could confirm that they are the same one or even be able to provide some kind of part/model number (please? ).  Below are the pictures of the keyboard, if any additional PHOTOS are needed I will gladly oblige.  Also, in the devices setting menu on the metro screen, it has my external keyboard listed, as well as a keyboard named RF-KM, which I suspect is the laptop one.

Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry for the newbpost. This is WEIRD. Just exactly how did you look for this item? You would surely have found it listed on Toshiba's own site. There are plenty of sites offering these keyboards. They are widely available starting at less than $30.

That's very odd indeed that you say that, because I copied this from your own post: "Toshiba Satellite P855-S5312" and pasted it into GOOGLE search and got 157,000 results...

Then I got slightly more ambitious and tried "Toshiba Satellite P855-S5312 keyboard" in Google and got 48 results. There are three on the first page that offer a P855-S3512 keyboard at prices between $29.99 and $49.00, and one includes instructions. Do they not have Google where you are?

Have I been shilled by a spammer?
We'll know soon enough...Either what Salmon said or, take the keyboard out and find the part number of the keyboard printed on a sticker. Type first few characters of the part number in Google, you may find the exact keyboard you are looking for.
