Symptoms: the computer will not work, when i turn it on the fans and lights come on and the HDD and cd , floppy drives come on. but there is no power to the keyboard or mouse. also the monitor acts like nothing is happening and a MESSAGE comes on saying that the monitor is working and to check the cables. also there is no beebs or sounds coming out of the inside speaker.

How it happend: The computer just crashed or so im told. when person tried to reboot the above happend (Symptoms)

What has been do to it to fix the problem:
-took it to compusa told us mobo was bad.
-brought new Mobo
-new Mobo did work in the compaq case.
-brought new case and power supply and upgraded ram.
-installed new PARTS, still go the symptoms
-brought new Hdd (one with a sata cable conection only)[idk if that may play a factor]
-installed new hdd with old one as slave, still got the symptoms
-brought new cpu
-installed new part and disconected slave hdd.
-still same symptoms
-installed an old working graphics card
-still no luck and no change on symptoms.

-tried different power supplys
-different cables
-removing the coms battary
-different keyboard, mouse and monitor
-tried with out ram

My guess-
my guess is that its some kinda of a virus. Because there is no power to the keyboard, mouse and monitor.
also my fathers friends computer did the same thing.



please help me any info or suggestions would be very helpful.

hahha ya i know. its not my computer it was my DADS and then he gave it to my brother.
thanks thouIf the power supply was bad, it might have fried the new motherboard, too.Since you have built a new computer............Is the motherboard(New One)
shorting out because of standoffs, or putting hold down screws in the wrong holes ETC.....
