Solve : need help with a modified HP m7330n?

Answer»

Hey People. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I have added a 1GB DDR memory and a PNY GeForce 6800 128MB GC to my HP m7330n desktop. After about a year now I GET HARD disk FAILURE error. Rarely when I take the graphic card out it works. Most of the time after getting the error and putting in the Windows XP CD it gets to the "choose partition" page, but it only says "unknown disk: no disk in the drive". After that whatever I press it goes to the blue page that says turn off to avoid damage to the hardware. I tried another brand new hard drive and I got the same results. Also taking out the extra 1GB ram and0or the graphic card does not help now. I was thinking maybe the motherboard is the problem, since in the initial boot up page it does not recognize the hard drive. Is there a way to reprogram the bios using hardware only??  Also I don't think there is much of a problem with PSU not being able to deliver enough power, since I tried unplugging some of the peripherals and DVD-R/RW, and it still did not work!!

Anyway these are the specifications:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00587142
MB: MSI MS-7184
CPU: Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2Ghz
RAM: 512KB + 512KB + 1GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200.8 ST3250823AS SATA 3.0
PSU: Bestec 300W ATX-300-12Z
GC: PNY GeForce 128MB vcg68128xwb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133155)

I appreciate your help  Your PSU is probably failing...best way to find out is to borrow one from a friend of the same wattage or greater and swap it in there...if the symptoms go away replace the PSU.

Bestec isn't quite a name that instills confidence when speaking of PSU's...At this point I would not agree with Patio.
What if you remove ALL the things you added? A PSU seldom goes weak. It just goes snap, crackle, pop!
It can be the memory stick! Some 1GB sticks are junk! Also, make sure you have put all the wires back on the motherboard. Check for over heating on AMD CPU.

How does one do this?thanks for all the replies. I tried a 550W PSU and a new HDD; neither worked. I took out the 1GB RAM and the graphic card; neither worked. At this point I think the problem is the motherboard. Do you think it's worth it to pay for a 939 socket motherboard. I found out that they are around 50-80 bucks.
Also if it helps, the problem started when I installed a USB wireless MODULE. The system started beeping in intervals and could not boot up sometimes, so I had to take the CMOS batt out in order to get it to work. After a while it just simply stopped!!!
Also the temp on the cpu is around 110F (43.3C).did you remove the wireless just to see how the system would act without it?Yes the wireless module is out also.OK, sorry -- I figured you knew to "pull" the device that was starting the problems...I was just hoping for an easy "fix."
