Solve : Need Help With An Old Computer Processor?

Answer»

Hello,I Read The Forums Here Every MORNING Before Work. However This Is My First POST,I Have A Problem I Cant Figer Out...Not Long Ago SOMEONE Gave Me A Old Compaq Deskpro 4000,I NEEDED A   Bios Startup Disk To Get In The Bios. And I Finely Found The Disk's On The Internet.Anyway,The Problem Is That The "Bios" Says That The Processor Is 200mhz.But Windows Is Onley Clocking It At 166Mhz.So That Dont Make Any Sense To Me"It's Not Logical",lol I Know It's A Old Computer But To Be Honest..I Like Old Computers Anyway Here Is The Specs...
Compaq Deskpro 4000
This Is What Is On A Little Tag On The Side Of The Pc
DP4000 5166MMX 3200/CDS DOM

The OS Is Windows98SE

If You Need Any More Info Let Me Know
THANKS
All this means is Windows isn't reporting it properly...the BIOS speed is most likely the true one.
You could DLoad and run CPU-Z to verify this...Thanks Patio,Well I Downloaded And Ran The Program And It Also Says That It's 166Mhz.Well Like I Said I Dont Understand It The Bios Still Says 200Mhz. It Just Dont Make Any Sense...
What Do You Think ?
Thanks Agian Then i take back what i said...if CPU-Z reports it as 166 that's most likely what it is...Ok,That's Cool..Why Would The Bios Say It Is 200Mhz ?,I Have Always Been Told That The Bios Is Alway Right lol
But Anyway's Thanks Patio
Oh And I Also Downloaded Pc Wizard 2008  And It Says It Is 0 Mhz lol
I Am Downloading Everest To See What It Says..
