Solve : Need Help With Sound?

Answer»

Hi I have been having this problem for a few months but here goes

I have a ibm netvista running Microsoft ME

When I start up the sound is good and clear even if i just listen to music it is good but the problem is if i want to do anything else it just seems to quit and when i was looking at the driver INFO it said that the vmm32.vmx is unavailable and there was another that was unavailable.

Can u help me get the sound back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried some of the things that u told others to do but it is just not workingWell.... What exactly HAVE you tried? Have you tried reinstalling your sound card drivers?

[glb]Flame[/glb]I have done full recovery...got updates...downladed the drivers remove the driver and put it back :-/My sound card is an analog devices and it SAYS hardware virsion 002
i just noticed there is noise but no music or audio
Are the speakers good?  It might be a problem with the speakers, not the driver...Just to throw another angle at it, did you check that ALL volume controls are turned up in 'Volume CONTROL'?
jimthe sound works and u can here it when u start up and if u just want to leston to music but when u use different programs it stops and u cannot here anything
Have you scanned for viruses and such?

[glb]Flame[/glb]i had problem like this when i was running win 98 the problem was the sound card was only running in half duplex and the drivers that were available at the time wouldnt alow me to run the sound card in full duplex.  in other words if i was USING the sound card for one program say winamp or MUSICMATCH to listen to music i couldnt use any other program that needed the sound card.  but when i upgraded to windows 2000 the problem solved it self.

i dont know if this is whats happening here but to it sounds like it.Volume control does not stay in place, it moves to the minimum by itself.I'm using windows ME and i am not sure when all this started didn't use my computer much until lately
