Solve : Need monitor connected to avoid beep code?? |
|
Answer» This may sound like a dumb question, but do you need the monitor connected to avoid a beep code error? I assumed that you didn't need the monitor connected to check out the system. That is to see if the CPU, video and memory was OK. To get the one beep code that says everything is OK.How would you know whether video is OK if you have no monitor connected to the computer?Quote How would you know whether video is OK if you have no monitor connected to the computer? I don't think you understand the question, it seems you don't have the experience to understand. I was not INTERESTED to see the display as I wanted to check only the motherboard, CPU, video and Ram. When you first turn on the motherboard which has CPU with heatsink and FAN, power supply, video card and ram. You should get ONE beep if everything is OK. I doidn't mean to insult you, OK? Find out for yourself. Turn off your computer, unplug the monitor, and turn the computer back on.Quote Find out for yourself. Turn off your computer, unplug the monitor, and turn the computer back on. I am building three computers. I get the same constant beeps with different memory and motherboards and different CPUs. Thats why I am a little confused. I don't see why I need the monitor hooked up to check the basic build. The BIOS is AWARD and constant beeps mean memory problems. The memory is compatable with all motherboards. I checked. Because you need your eyes as well as your ears to spot error messages. Trying to do one without the other is just pointless. If you have no monitor, it doesn't matter if the system works or not. If you do....use it. A lack of monitor does not generate an error code by itself. You all still don't understand. Since I was building systems I wanted to save time and just check to see if the basic build was OK, If it was I would hear one beep. Then I will hook up the rest and install the OS, OK? So this is my last word on the suject.See above reply. There is no need to do it the way you insist on doing it. It is short sighted and well...silly. You are not saving time by doing it in this fashion UNLESS it takes you longer than 15 seconds to plug in a monitor. So re-read it. That is my last word on the subject. Award bios has the fewest beep codes of all the bios. Constant beeping might be a memory error, but can also indicate cpu fan failure or cpu overheating. Reseat the memory to make sure it is properly inserted. If there is only one memory module, it should be in slot one. If there is more than one, check the MB manual to see if the memory should be in consecutive slots (1-2-3-4) or (1-3-2-4). If a second or third memory module is in the wrong slot, it doesn't read the memory banks correctly and RESULTS in an error.Quote I am building three computers. Are you saying, you have made a computer without a monitor hooked up but it beeps and does not work, in which case we can help you OR are you saying, does a computer start up and work without a monitor? In which case stop being so lazy, unplug your monitor from this computer you are using, if it boots up with 1 beep then the answer is yes, if not then the answer is no!Quote You all still don't understand. Since I was building systems I wanted to save time and just check to see if the basic build was OK, It is hard to tell if you have DONE this, and it doesn't work, or if you are GOING to do it, and not sure if it does work.Or have done this, and it doesn't work and you don't know why. Or if it does work you still don't know why. Your turn. You know this reminds me of the Greek philosophers trying to reason how MANY teeth a horse had when the quicker and more sure way to get the correct response would have been to simply look in the horse's mouth. You can take a horse to a monitor, but you can't make it unplug it.Or plug it in, when that would be easiest. |
