Solve : need some advices for high-quality PC speakers?

Answer»

Hi all,

I am kinda audiophine, and planning to buy a brand-new 5.1 or 7.1 speakers for my PC if possible.

I have just spent some time on window shopping, and seen some of the PC speakers are priced up to more than several hundreds while some of their prices are quite reasonable.

What makes such a big difference in their prices?

Speakers are quite expensive. Usually the difference between cheap and expensive is the quality of the sound. Sometimes the more expensive ones have different settings LIKE tone settings as well as microphone and speaker capabilities. (more or less like a mini amplifier)
Cheap speakers aren't that bad either. My current speakers only have are very cheap. Sound quality isn't great but is good enough for music. What's your budget, and what sound card do you have?
If you have a cheap card you'll want to upgrade that first.Quote from: Calum on June 24, 2007, 04:25:23 AM

I have got Creative SB audigy 4. I have no idea if it is a good enough, coz SB X-FI has been available for a while.

I have taken some visits to those Creative PC speaker systems:

but each of the speakers (I mean satellite) are quite small in size, I am wondering how loud their audio outputs can be.

I would like to keep the budget lower than US$120.
lol...With a budget of up to $120, I think you can surely find plenty of good choices. Visit http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=60&name=Speakers ; read the user REVIEWS. nothing comes close to these for the price, nothing*

But, with shipping, that puts the cost at about $168.u save or you suffer , If I knew speakers were this good for under 200.00 bucks, I would have bought these years ago. They can be used as a surround sound system for your tv/stereo as well. I only have the basic sound blaster card audigy se walmart special and the sound is amazing.........

u save or you suffer ,
I think you mean u save but you suffer. I guess it's all relative. I have a set of speakers with brand/model BOKA-1050 ATTACHED to my computer. I discovered that newegg sells speakers that look identical to mine but they are labeled OG-1050. I read the negative reviews there and just laughed. Again, I'm ASSUMING they are really the same since they look identical to mine except for the brand label. I did not buy my speakers separately; got them with a computer I bought from a guy who built the system.

Back to my point. Compared to the speakers that came with an eMachine computer (model 466id, Win 98SE) my mother owned, my speakers produce much better sound. I would consider using her speakers would as suffering but I really don't feel that I'm suffering with my speakers. Now, granted, I don't listen to a lot of music while using my computer but, for occasional listening, I've never strongly felt the need for better speakers. exactly good point. The "stock" 1.39 speakers that came with my emachine t3422 were plenty fine, they work.... I just got to the point in my life where I pretty much don't do anything but work and come home. I wanted something nice. I almost called my mother I was so scared when I played the demo for warcraft on my newer speakers. I didn't know sound was that good with a bass that neighbors down the street can "feel"...It's all relevant, If someone has a little over a hundred bucks to spend on some nice speakers, I'm just highly recommending these... I read many reviews and listened to some....I'm happy....
