Answer» Currently I have;
Opteron 175 socket 939 ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe NF4SLI 939 HD 320G SEAGATE sata 1gbx2 Corsair TWINXMS 512mbx2 Corsair TWINXMS EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS Superclocked 640MB GDDR3 OCZ GameXStream 700w Windows XP
I'm thinking of upgrading to Intel, need some advice on a cpu, Mobo, and Ram.
Budget; ~$200 for a cpu ~$200 for a Mobo ~$150 for Ram
The primary function will be a gaming PC, for games LIKE First person shooters, Real Time strategy, and MMORPGs.
Any suggestions would be helpful.for your cpu i would go with a q6600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115018motherboard - EVGA 750i $179.99
-OR-
EVGA 780i $249.99
if you DONT plan on going SLI, then the cheaper 750i is your best bet.
RAM- G Skill (2x2gb) DDR2 1066 $109.99
CPU- Intel Q6600, the same ONE computeruler gave you.
CPU Heatsink and Fan- Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and 120mm Fan
if you do not plan to overclock your CPU, you can disregard the CPU heatsink and fan, however, you will need to purchase the retail version of the Q6600 and not the OEM version that we gave you. reason being, the retail version comes with a stock fan whereas the OEM version does not.
