Solve : Need Urgent Help.. Computer won't boot?

Answer»

This is totally weird.  My computer is working fine today until I decided to add 2 more gig of ram into it.  After that, it won't even boot up, there is no beeping sound, and there is no signal to the computer monitor at all.  The screen is totally dark, flashing "no signal".  After I remove the RAM, the computer still won't start up at all.  I checked all the cable, video card cables, unplug and re-plug in everything.  Still, it doesn't help at all.  The power supply is working, since all the fans are still working.  I stripped the computer down to the bare essential, one strip of ram, one HD, video card.. still, the computer won't boot... does that mean my motherboard is fried?  Help!!
My computer setup is as follows:
Core 2duo 6420
OCZ 2P800R22GK: 2 Gb (the extra 2Gb of RAM that I tried to install today is exactly the same as the original one I had inside the computer before this incident
Motherboard: Gigabyte 965P S3sounds like either the power pack has gone or your board is fried i had this problem and it was my power pack it just happened randomly but just take it to the local comp shop and they should be able to fix it another thing is that I cleared CMOS last night, however, after that, my computer will only start for 2 seconds before it restart all by itself, and it keeps doing that until i shut it off.  My Raidmax computer case doesn't have a built-in speaker, so I can't even heard any beep.  One interesting thing is that after I remove everything (including cpu), the computer will stay on, the fan will keep working, however, once I put cpu in but NOTHING else, the computer will start keep restarting by itself.  why is that?hmmmmmm im not too sure could be your CPU has fried or your CPU is confused but atleast youve now narrowed down the problem to your CPU being the most likely thats better now you can either replace it or get it checked cause hardware is the hardest to explain over the INTERNET it needs to be checked for things like soldering errors for example.

So from my experience theres nothing i can do to really help you sorry Someone has SUGGESTED to me that it could be PSU, is it possible?  if it is due to PSU, why does the fan still work? Quote from: tubbychubby on December 06, 2007, 04:20:45 PM

Someone has suggested to me that it could be PSU, is it possible?  if it is due to PSU, why does the fan still work?

the PSU has many wires running many different voltages, it is possible that the part of the PSU that powers the fans still works while the rest could be ka-put. but before BLAMING the PSU, we need to know a few more things...

I cleared CMOS last night,
how did you clear the CMOS?

My Raidmax computer case doesn't have a built-in speaker,
the speaker responsible for BIOS beeps comes with the motherboard, not with the case. you may wish to find a speaker, as your BIOS could be telling you whats wrong...
