Solve : Network card??

Answer»

been experiencing an issue for a certain amount of months now, sent one computer back after brand new PURCHASE and got a second, same issue.

The issue is when i boot to the desktop, before loading the icons and interface, system hangs there for about 2-4 minutes before it finally kicks in, this only happens when my ethernet cord is plugged into my network card.

if i unplug it before i turn the computer on this doesnt happen, or if i disable the realtek network card this doesnt happen, i got a network card that came with my dsl. happens in this as well.

not sure if theres anything i can do, tech support dont know jack as usual

sent one computer back already and they replaced it, still the same issue, still only when internet connection is active. called them, they dont know anything and cant figure it outSounds LIKE a DHCP and/or DNS configuration problem. Does your modem DISCONNECT and loose its IP address when you shut down? If so, windows must wait for it to reconnect before acquiring the IP and DNS server addresses. thats a possibility, anyway to fix that from happening?Only if you have an option of a "keep alive" connection in the modems setup or using a router that will do it.
