Answer» Hey - I installed a new network card into my Pentium 2 following instructions I found on the web. I put the case back on and EVERYTHING seemed fine, I connected the power and switched it on - the lights on the front flashed on for second then WENT off. There was no sound either. I TRIED hitting the on button again in case Id turned it off accidently and nothing happened. So I unplugged the power and checked the cable and tried again, the same thing happened, lights on for two seconds and no sound. This is my first time installing hardware, so Im not sure what to do. If anyone has any ideas Id be grateful thanksMod35tBabe......... "I installed a new network card into my Pentium 2" Was there an existing ethernet card installed that you had to replace or is this a new install? It's possible that you may have unseated another card or a connection when you were in there poking around ..... If all you did was plug in the new card , then remove it , and then power up again and see if things work ok ...... I suspect that something has been disturbed . What operating system is installed?

dl65 Amazingly - it now works... dont ask me how. My mum just turned it on and it worked, and I thought ok Ill try installing it again and see what happens and it worked. It installed the card and all so perhaps it was just being finicky. But now ive hit another brick wall - I cant network them together. I tried using network wizard and lost my ADSL, I rang my friendly ISP and got that back but am stuck on getting it to network. I also SETUP the network wizard on a disk like XP askes u to, but the other computer says it needs various drivers but I have NO idea where Im sposed to get them from. This could be because its missing a driver that I cant find on the cds or on the net. I'd love for it to just work like the computer did but I wont hold my breath. The OS is a 98 on the one with a new card just installed, and the other (main) is on XP. I have a D-LInk 504 ADSL router and a single network card in each computer. My router has 4 ethernet ports so I assume im networking thru that but HOW is the question.
