Solve : NETWORK DRIVE TROUBLE?

Answer»

Hi all
I have recently experienced some problems with my network drive. Its a 500GB WD external hardrive, connected to my Thomson TG782T ADSL home network gateway. It used to work fine formatted as a FAT32 drive (as that is all the router can read, can't do NTFS permissions). However, recently, it began to GET slower and slower as a result of its FAT table filling up, and so i decided to split it into two FAT32 drives. I have done this, however, and now when it is mapped as a network drive, it says that the first drive has 4mb free space. This problem OCCURS on three computers (1xp home, 1 xp pro, 1 win7), and across multiple user accounts. In an attempt to fix the problem, I resized the partitions back to its full 500GB size. However, it still says it only has 4mb free. When i plug the hardrive into the computer through its USB port, it reports disk size correctly. I have copied files OVER the LIMIT that is stated, and plugged it back into the router, only to have the drive claim it is larger, but still with only 4mb free. I have run chkdsk. Does ANYONE have any ideas?
Thanks
