Answer» Hi guys, been a long time since I was last on here - finally have the time to come back - hopefully regularly!
Anyways, here's my PROBLEM. Currently got a self build going on for my aunt. Mix of old COMPONENTS I had and new ones. It is built, it powers on, but I get nothing on the monitor. I have tested and replaced CPU, Mobo & Ram. GRAPHICS card has been tested in my own rig and does work, RAM tested in my mates rig and it works. I get no system beeps, just the sound of the fan spinning up. It's puzzling me since I can't figure out what the *censored* is wrong with it Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Rig setup is: 450W PSU Athlon II X2 250 AM3 CPU ASRock N68C-S UCC board 2GB DDR2 800 RAM MSI GeForce 8400GS 512MB Silent GDDR3 PCIe 500GB SataII HDD (tried powering on with and without this connected) Standard Sata optical drive (currently not connected until problem is sorted)Is the 4/6 pin power clip connected to the vid card ? ?There is no power clip for the gfx card, it doesn't NEED one.Hi GX44, Have you tried the motherboard without anything plugged in just keyboard and monitor into the on-board VGA and you have both power connections to the motherboard.
i had this problem when my Packard Bell died, it was the PSU being a total wolly. have you got another PSU to test?
