Solve : New build Some advice please.?

Answer»

Hi, I'm about to build a new rig consisting of a) AsusM3a770 mobo, b) AMD x2 6000+ cpu, c) 4gb Corsair ram,d) 250gb Sata2 HDD, e)Sata DVD drive, f)450W PSU. Vista Ultimate 64bit OS (OEM).
My questions are, does the DVD drive need/have the 'audio in' cable to the mobo ( or is that just for CD drives)? Will my Epson CX3200 printer work with this OS (currently on XPHome) or will I have to d/load DRIVERS?
I will be installing my (old) NVidea 7100GS G/card. Will this work on Generic Drivers until I get the 64bit ones? How can I TELL if 64bit drivers are on the cd instalation discs? All the parts should arrive tomorrow (God willing!) & I'd like to get cracking with the build. BTW Vista is a new experience for me so I'll need a fair bit of luck there alone! Cheers AlexCD/DVD drives haven't needed that audio cable connection since Win98...
You will need drivers for the Epson...
I would CHECK nVidia's site for the proper vid card drivers...`
I'm unclear about whether Epson has Vista 64 drivers for the CX3200 - check your CD and look here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supAdvice.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&noteoid=86150&type=highlights. You may need to contact Epson.

Looks like your NVIDIA driver is here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_175.19_whql.html.

Best of luck!
