Solve : New CD Burner Issues..(SOLVED)? |
|
Answer» Ok, I just installed a new CD burner. I tested it, and it worked fine. Played back on the COMPUTER and on my cheap stereo. Someone said to "tweak" the burn speed.Good thing to try...your burning program has the options to do it.did you finalise the burn ? ?I think, he did: Quote Played back on the computer and on my cheap stereoYes, SHE did finalize the burn. LOL. I have probably burned hundreds of CD's - not new to it. NEVER, ever had a problem (other than the ocassional bad cd) until now. I want my OLD Lite-On back. Anyone out there have an old one .. Lite-On SOHW-1633s I'll buy it. LOL. I am just at wit's end trying to figure out what is wrong. I tried tweaking the burn speeds .. nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Same as other trys .. will replay on my computer and will play on my cheap stereo .. no where else. This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Must be the special air in my place or something. haha. If ANYONE can help .. ANY suggestions .. no matter how small .. PLEASE HELPPPP MEEEEEEE. Thank you. It's not a solution but the newest dual-layer DVD burner from Lite-On is about 40 bucks shipped from newegg if you're in the States... I grabbed 2 last month. Thanks .. and it isn't quite a solution .. because that's the burner I just bought and installed !!!! I am literally going nuts here. It has to be something simple. Something I am overlooking. I even called LiteOn, and they said that all retail burners that they sell now, are preset as a "slave". They said I had to go back in and make sure it was set to "Master". Well, guess what? It WAS set as Master, so that can't be it either. Anyway, can't call them back until Monday, so now I have all weekend to try and solve this puzzle. So, if anyone out there who reads this has any idea or suggestion .. please share it. I am convinced this is something simple .. something that I have overlooked. To recap ... I have tried diff media, diff software, "tweaked" the burn speed, and always get the same results. The newly burned CD will play back in my computer, and will play back on a cheap stereo, but that's it. Won't play back on anything else. OH .. I even tried MP3 vs WMA. Nothing. Some come on people ! Let's all put on our thinking caps and figure this out ! No suggestion or idea is stupid .. and I can't try it if you don't share it, ok? Thank you all. YESSSSSSSSS !!! I figured it out! Knew it had to be something simple .. all the elements were working - just not together. I uninstalled my primary burning software(and all others), uninstalled the drivers for the new burner, shut everything down, restarted .. let the new drivers be reinstalled, then reinstalled the primary burning software. PRESTO ! Now the cd's will play anywhere again. I have no idea why .. it just works. Sometimes it's the simple things that escape us because we look too deep. Anyway, thanks to all who tried. Got stuff to burn Have a GREAT day all !!Thank you for posting back.I learned something from this thread.. hehehe! good thing ypu posted back.. |
