GFORCE 6600 GT AGP 8.0x
40 gig hard drive
cd-rom
Cooler Master Case


ok everything seemed O.K. when I put it together but when I turn it on, the only thing that shows on the screen is


              "Monitor Self Test"

Im getting real mad    and really want to fix this problem soon!



I tried: clearing CMOS
reinstalling GFX card
reinstalling motherboard
reinstalling hard drive

but that doesn't help!

everything turns on except the monitor.... when I turn it on the only thing it has on it is that "monitor test screen" signAt startup tap F8 repeatedly til it starts and CHOOSE Safe Mode. This will load generic video drivers. If the monitor is working congratulations that means it's not the monitor.
Go to Control Panel Hardware and remove the vid card.
On reboot have your drivers ready for that vid card and re-install them.Disable onboard videocard if you are making use of an expansion videocard.my keyboard doesnt seem to have POWER.... when I click to test if it works (by clicking one of the lock buttons) the light doesnt COME on...So now there are 2 things known not to work. What kind of power supply and was it new? Reseat everything and replug all connectors. It sounds like a mis-build.power supply = 400 Watts


I tried rebuilding the comp 3 or 4 times...hello?Are you using a ps2 keyboard?Buy a new keyboard, hook it up with the power off and re-boot the machine.
Then try some of the things that have been suggested here.
