Answer» I have a NEW (as of today) HP G5429fr. From the first TIME I turned it on, it's made more more hard DRIVE noise than the 6-yr-old Dell it's replacing. Should I take it BACK, or could this be normal?A noisy hard drive is not normal, but are you sure it is the hard drive as it could be another component which is RESONATING through the case. If you are sure it is the hard drive, take it back.It's possible it's just a noisy fan. In any case, excessive noise is not something that is normal in a new computer like that. Take it back.
