Solve : New graphics card? |
|
Answer» Hi everyone. I purchased a new graphics card-- GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card-- for my Dimension E310. Accessless replied to my post on June 18 saying that I should upgrade my psu. A Dell tech said that they would send an extra cable that can be attached to the system board to give it more power. Is that true? I REALLY do not want to damage my pc. Any answers will be helpful. maryhigginsrice Not to be cold or anything but a $35.00 PSU is never a good idea... Depends on who you buy it from (not that I'm daft enough to do it again. I used to pick PSU's up for peanuts but they used to last about the same amount of time as peanuts) Quote from: maryhigginsrice on July 02, 2010, 03:06:39 AM Hi everyone. The danger comes in when overloading a power supply, they can get very hot if they don't quickly burn themselves out.Patio, I'm usually pretty leary about buying cheap PC parts because I know that usually you get what you pay for. But it was on sale and I figured I would TRY it out ANYWAY. It's lasted me a couple months now and still going strong. Hasn't given me a bit of trouble. Sometimes you get a piece of junk, but sometimes you luck out. I'm not going to say I lucked out cause I know as soon as I do it'll crap out on me, but so far so good. |
