Solve : New graphics card causing problems?

Answer»

Hi,

My sister has a Dell precision workstation 450, her current setup doesn't allow her to  play the sims 3 so she asked me to upgrade it.

It had a Matrox 908-07 Rev A graphics card in it but it doesn't support her game (this was in one of the PCI slots). I bought a PNY GeForce 6200 AGP card, removed the old card and fitted the new one. The SYSTEM turned on but there was no display on the monitor - I checked connections SEVERAL times and couldn't find any issues.

However, I've since taken out the new card and replaced the old one to see if I could find a solution and I'm getting the same problem - no display. Tried it with two monitors and with the card in 2 slots.

What can I do? I haven't got a clue where to go from here - it still starts booting up and the keyboard light comes on with the old graphics carde in but no display. (Keyboard light doesn't come on with the new card - don't know if that helps).

Any ideas?

Really appreciate any HELP you can give.

LewisIs there an onboard graphics card that it is booting to first? If it doesn't...

it is possible you knocked SOMETHING loose during installation, reseat the RAM sticks and CHECK all connections from the PSU to the Motherboard. There's no onboard graphics, going over to have another look today, will check connections from psu to motherboard - thanks kurtiskain.

Anything else that could help solve the problem?

Will post when I've checked connections.
