Answer»

I just GOT Western Digital SATA hard drive, it flashes red alot when i'm connected through a ROUTER, is that normal, I have Windows 7 Home Premium also. Do you mean your hard drive access led?
That just means that your disk is being ACCESSED.what do you mean, my hard drive is being accessed. the red light flashes alot, that is what i'm askingWhat's the model of the hard drive ?

Are you having a problem ? Or just curious about the light ?

Hard drive use LEDs to indicate when they are working. When there is little or no work being done, they are off..Quote from: MD507 on April 14, 2010, 07:05:56 PM

Anything that will read or write to the hard drive is called access. Windows (and other OS's) access the hard drive a lot.
The light you are talking about, is it on the front of your computer ENCLOSURE?curious about why the light keeps flashing, so it is normal for the hard drive t be blinking all the time, I have a SATA WD 500GB, it is the front of my computer yesYes, that just means that the drive is in use while the light is on, it's EITHER reading or writing.

Nice drive btw.thank you, I do have Micrsoft Outlook 2003 on my computer i was reading on the internet is always Microsoft Outlook
was constantly reading and writing, how do I shut Microsoft Outlook 2003 down
