Answer» Hi, Further on with my last thread, have got the replacement hard drive and put it into the computer ( hd103uj ) This replacement is acting very different to the original in that when i put the vista oem 64 BIT home premium disc in, it goes to the point where it asks for the driver to be installed, i BROWSE and there is nothing, cannot format it or anything, so i put the old one back in with the new one, booted up, went into my computer, saw that a message dvd rw drive ( d: ) 0 bytes free of 3.53 gb ( new hard drive by the way is a 1tb hd ) If i right click on this there is a list where one of them is format. QUESTION, if i click on format will this format the new disc and everything is well, however I saw SOMEWHERE that a troubleshoot query, there was something similar about formatting a hard drive where it says 0 bytes free of 3.5 gb, and its like looking for a needle in a haystack. I do not WANT to do anything rash so hence the new post. Hope this makes sense and can anyone help. Thanks in advance. Its alright folks have done it.It was done automatically by computer, all i had to do was click on new, computer did the rest, that plus put the sata cable in the slot where the old one was. So am up and running again.
