Answer» I know this should be simple, i have done it before and i dont recall having this problem.
I just got my new maxtor 300 gig hard drive in the mail....
I install the hard drive in my comp....turn it on and open partition magic.
the 300 gig is read on there as 127 gig...call me crazy but THATS way off.
Im on windows xp. What do i do to format this dang thing so its near the 300 gig MARK with the windows xp file format?
Thanks!Install SP2.FIRST of all make sure its jumper settings are right, make sure your first boot device is your dvd or cdrom drive, put your xp disk in that drive, then xp will let you partition and then format that drive. Or simply right click on my computer then disk management and do it from there.patio thanks....
