Answer» Friend of mine had to put in a new hard disc in her HP computer. Now when she goes to Defrag it is over in SECONDS. The installer told her that this is normal because there is no data on her new hard disc. Is this a correct answer to her problem?? So when you have used your Hard drive all the files will be all over the place and when you Defrag it it PUTS themm back together so the computer can find them fast. It prolonges the life expectancy of the HDD.
