Answer» i have an older GIGABYTE GA-8IEXW it takes PC 1600 and PC 2100 ram my QUESTION is this can i put PC 3200 in there (will the PC 3200 slow down to PC 2100) or am i stuck BYING ram i cant find easyly??PC stores have refunds, don't they? At least most of them. What I'd do is BUY the 3200 and TRY it. If it works, great! If not, then you can get a refund for the RAM. Actually, I'd upgrade the motherboard and save the trouble, but that costs a little bit more. cant upgarade motherboard i use this board cuz it has 4 IDE's 1 and 2 are 33/66/ and 100 3 and 4 are 100/133 its a P 4 2.8 Northwood with currently 512 MB PC 2100 with a 10 GB system drive a JOBD made up of a 1243 and a 120 and then i have a 400 GB SATA 3.0Okay, then I'd buy the 3200 and hang on to that receipt for if it doesn't work. I'm not finding any useful articles on the compatibility of your mobo. Make sure they accept refunds first!
