Solve : New laptop cutting power in my house?

Answer»

I recently BOUGHT a laptop from cyberpower pc uk :
http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Xplorer_X6-9500_Notebook/
with the i7-2720 processor and an OCZ vertex 3 SSD (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/240gb-ocz-technology-vertex-3-25-sata-6gb-s-sandforce-ssd-read-550mb-s-write-520mb-s-60k-iops)

The laptop runs perfectly fine, i get very good performance with GAMES and general applications.
the problem comes when I plug the power adaptor in. whether the laptop is on at the time or not, the charger will cut power off in the house. sometimes this can be as soon as i plug the adaptor into the laptop or a few MINUTES later.

any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. If nothing else is tripping the power then it sounds like the power adapter is faulty and is blowing a fuse or tripping one of your house circuit breakers. You have not said if it is an overcurrent breaker or an earth leakage breaker (RLCB) or a re-wireable fuse. Or what you do to bring the power BACK on. If it is still under warranty get it replaced. If the replacement does it, get a certified electrician to CHECK your house wiring and breakers.
the working days of Cyberpower are Mon-Fri, i am going to have it sent back and have a replacement issued.
thank you for you advice I will keep this post updated
