Solve : new laptop hinges wont work!?? |
|
Answer» i bought new laptop hinges, but theyre stationary. they dont "hinge". theyre the same exact ones that were on here before, MADE for the the model of the laptop i own. is there a trick to this? they didn't come with instructions or anything, so im assuming its not rocket science, but i dont see it. any ideas? thanks guy, super appreciate it.or if anyone can direct me to a place where i can figure this out, that would be cool too. thanksHave you installed them yet, or are you just trying to open and shut them with your fingers? Laptop hinges are be quite stiff by design to stop the screen flopping about. I would try installing them and if they are still stiff, use a small amount of WD-40 or similar to lubricate them. Spray some on a COTTON bud and try to work it into the moving parts of the hinges, don't squirt it all over the hinge area because that might damage the plastic of the laptop's case.i tried moving them before installation, i THOUGHT maybe they needed to be installed before they MOVED, which didn't make much sense, but needless to SAY after installation they are still stationary. thanks for the tip, i will definitely try that! |
