Solve : New Motherboard/CPU?

Answer»

I just got a NEW motherboard and cpu a AMD 64 X2 4400+ and a Gigabyte nForce4 SLI K8Triton Seris BOARD and this is a huge upgrade compared to what im running now (I havent installed yet because I have to go get a PCI-E card before I can) I never ran in to this potential problem but will my PC3200 ram worth with the 400 DDR? im sure it will but is it worth getting different ram its also dual channal and the memory I have now isnt.........Thanks and if so any suggestions for high performance dual channel ram with out BREAKING the bank ILL need at least a gig but id really like dual channel 2 gigs...thanksDoes an AMD use dual channel? I don't think so yet, so I would try it and see. There may be other compatibilities, but you'll KNOW soon enough if there are. (There's more to RAM than the speed alone!)If you have two identical PC3200 memory modules, they could be used as dual-channel memory if the motherboard is designed for dual-channel. The motherboard determines whether dual-channel will work, not the memory modules, as long you have two identical modules and you put them in the right memory slots.
